Hide and Seek With a Lizard...

Have you ever played Hide and Seek with a lizard?

No, you say?

Let me show you what you've been missing out on.

This handsome guy was just looking for a fun game of Hide and Seek....

Jeren was more than happy to take on the challenge

Mr. Lizard tried hiding in a brick cut out, but Jeren was hot on this trail

So Mr. Lizard took to the backside of the brick

But Mr. Lizard didn't take into account that his tail is quite long and it gave him away

Jeren had the upper hand on the game at this point

So Mr. Lizard took on another approach to hiding

But Jeren cheated had the bright idea of coming around to Mr. Lizard's side of the wall

Mr. Lizard had to get creative now

Jeren's quick eye didn't let him hide for long....Jeren thought it was pretty funny

Mr. Lizard was quite disappointed that his treasured hiding spot had been found out

He tried once again to go the brick route

But then Ashlyn got involved and poor Mr. Lizard whirled around and took for the high country

Imagine Mr. Lizards surprise when Jeren was able to climb up to the high country, too

So back down Mr. Lizard goes

The gate was a perfect place to hide behind for Mr. Lizard to catch his breath for a bit

Finally, Mr. Lizard had the upper hand on the Hide and Seek game

After much searching Mr. Lizard was spotted in the plants and Ashlyn thought his hide-out was quite hilarious

In desperation, and for his on personal safety at this point, Mr. Lizard ran into the big lavender bush and got lost in the green

After a few minutes of looking (and knocking down the lavender bush) Mommy intervened on Mr. Lizards life and told Jeren and Ashlyn to call it a game.

If you ever get a chance to play Hide and Seek with a lizard, Jeren and Ashlyn would highly recommend it.....and Mommy says it's highly entertaining to watch. ;)

A Week to Remember

This has been quite a week and it's not even to the weekend yet.....whew!

To start it off, Owen pulled his first top tooth!  He was quite proud of himself.

And we're all happy for him - it's truly a family celebration when a tooth comes out and mom and dad are celebrating because we haven't had to pull a tooth, yet.  So far, Kristyn and Owen have pulled them by themselves!!!

Good job, Owen!
We've had a lot of visitors to our garden this week.  One day Jeren came running in shouting, "Mama, there's a rabbit in our salad!"

The squirrels have been fattening up on our tomatoes - their number decreases almost daily, thanks to BB's. :)

Then there's the birds - which we all love to watch - that come to our flowers along the garden.
On the left, hanging up-side-down is a woodpecker (I think) and to the right with it's head stuck in a sunflower is a golden finch.

Can you get any cuter?

Then we've had a little "falling out of the fort" incident that resulted in this....(No, she has not been smiling like this the whole time - most of the time, it's tears)

I found an older uniform shirt this morning that had a hole in the sleeve, so I cut it off to fit over her cast.

Did you notice she also pulled one of her teeth this week?.....if you have any extra change laying around and want to donate it to the tooth fairy, there is one that is frequenting our house - we'd be happy to give it to her on her next stop - HA!!!

Kristyn wanted me to write something on her cast and since she was melting in tears wondering how she would ever be able to function for the next few weeks with this thing, I decided to write some Bible verses that might help her along. :)

So now, we're looking to coast through the weekend with nothing but fun and relaxation - we'll see what happens, but it's a nice thought anyway!

Have a great weekend, Friends!

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school and the first day of Kindergarten for Megan....she woke up smiling!  Yesterday they kept asking, "How many more hours until school starts?"

Megan was even smiling while she was eating her baked oatmeal.....

but the others were pretty excited, too.

All ready for their day!

Owen started second grade.

Kristyn started fourth grade.

Miss Smiles is now in Kindergarten.

They wanted to show Grandma their new shoes. :)

Off they go...

Jeren and Ashlyn survived well, but they sure did miss them being gone.  Ashlyn couldn't wait for them to get home....

Still smiling...

Boys are much too cool for hugs and such!  They just carried on where they left off the day before.

The End!
