From This to That

I love re-using things!  I love shopping at thrift stores and finding things that I know I can use, or make something "new" out of it.

So about a week, or so before I went to Misty's she had told me about this song that she had heard and really liked.  That got my mind rolling.......

First I found this at a thrift store for a couple of dollars:

(Lovely, but completely out of my taste for hanging on my wall)

I bought a can of spray paint and a little bottle of black paint and got to work! I left the picture just as it was and painted right over the glass and frame. :)

The end result!

Don't look too close because it's certainly not perfect....

The first few coats went on beautifully smooth and looked wonderful!  Then I went to put the last coat on and it must have been too cold, or something because the paint kind of froze, making it crack all over (the paint cracked, not the glass).  But I think it made it look even better that way.

(This was before I had the letters painted in.)

So I carted it off to my sisters and now she can worry about finding a place to put it. :)   It really was so fun to do (if you like to paint), you should try it sometime - and let me know what you made. :)

A FUN week with cousins!

Well, blogger still isn't my greatest friend this morning ( S_L_O_W), but that's okay, I've been doing some serious cleaning while the pictures have been loading. :D

**First of all, I want to say how happy I was last night to meet one of our blog followers - Thank you, Miss "K" for introducing yourself to me. You made my night!  See you in July maybe? I'm glad you enjoy our blog. :)**

You might remember this post from last year when we went to Misty's.  This year we went again while Keith was at the convention and we had SO much fun!!!

Cardboard boxes are the best!

Reading is a favorite!

Grandma giving out first aid to a fallen victim...

I had our girls hair in braids, so when we got there, Misty's girls wanted their hair in braids, too - LOTS of braiding. :)  But on the bright side we didn't have to comb hair for several days. :)

It wasn't as warm as it was last year, so the kids found inside things to do some of the time.

Picnics

Mud Puddles

Early Easter egg hunt.

Aunt Misty fixed these dresses for Kara and Megan - they were thrilled to be "twins" that day.

Hail!!

 "Smarshmellow" roast

Braids out.... :)

These innocent little critters may not look like much, but they have ways of getting everyone's undivided attention. :)   (Yep, that's ink and no, it did not wash off very well.) We thought they were taking a nap....wrong!!  They sneaked into the office and had a time exploring great and wonderful things.

Thank you, Misty and Wesley, for  letting us come!  We had gobs of fun and enjoyed our week.

?? Hmmmm.....

Blogger is not liking me very much the last several days.  I've tried to put pictures on here of the fun we've been having, but blogger is just not cooperating at all very well, at least with the pictures.  So come back again soon and hopefully, blogger and I will be getting along better. :)

Hope you are having a fabulous week!
