We have had a fun week. First of all, Grandma came and brought Megan back home. :)
She also brought Owen's birthday present - he wanted Lincoln Logs and she found a good Craigslist deal.
She also brought the kids Valentine cookies that she makes for them each year - and mom and dad, too. They are SO tasty - Thanks, Mom! (Ignore Megan's hair - she had traveled all day - ha)
Then they had two days of school and we got......
Patch wanted out and quickly got covered in snow....
Two beautiful snow days!
It finally stopped today enough to shovel a path without it getting immediately covered again.
Today was also CHICK DAY at our house!!! These lovelies arrived at the post office this afternoon and we have enjoyed watching them. We have 27 butchering chickens (we raised some last spring and it was a big help to our freezer, so we're doing it again) and we have 14 laying hens - I think there are a couple of roosters in there somewhere, too.
This evening it's been construction of Lincoln Log Village.
(In case you're wondering about Kristyn's hair - Wednesday was crazy hair day at school, so she wanted her hair crazy, BUT she also had a dentist appointment that day, so I didn't want to get any strange glares, so I did her hair in corn rows....the best part of that is, I don't have to comb it again all week. :)
How was your week?

Last Week
Grandma and Papa came up and stayed with us for a while and we enjoyed them being here so much! We got to celebrate the two birthdays - Papa's a day late and Owen's two days early. :) I won't give Papa's age out for the world-wide-web to see, but the 8 is part of his age. :) It's not an impressive cake, I know, but it was quite a rushed time and Keith decided and told me a simple chocolate cake was in order - it was very tasty with our ice cream. :)
Kristyn got the camera Sunday afternoon and took a picture of her sweet sister.
Jeren sporting his new hat from Grandma.
Boots - he loves boots! Thank you, Grandma and Papa.
Papa dramatically reading his card - with lots of little helpers.
Megan went home with Grandma and Papa and is coming back tomorrow with her other Grandma. We have all missed her terribly. These two have had to play dress up all by themselves - but they seem to be doing fine, don't you think?
Someone came to the door and blessed us with ALL of this!!! THANK YOU ~ you know who you are ~ THANK YOU!!!!
Then the day before Owen's birthday, he looked like this - head to the soles of his feet - and it got worse. So he spent a while in ER until they decided it was an allergic reaction to something unknown..hmmm, that really clears it up for us. :D
The next day (his birthday) he got to stay home from school because he was still pretty swollen. So he wanted to help me make his birthday supper - Spaghetti, corn on the cob and salad. :)
Mr. Carl brought down his cake and Owen thought it was the greatest! What a sweet neighbor we have. He brought a gift, the cake, camo plates and napkins, spoons and ice cream. He loves doing that for the kids.
We had a fun week! How about you?
